Relaxation and Stress Reduction - with Christine Mosley
Reiki for Our Military

"Reiki practice supports the well-being and resilience
of our soldiers and their families".

Christine's husband retired from the military after serving for 26 years as an Army Signal Officer. Her son is an Army Ranger and recently returned from his 3rd deployment to Afghanistan.

Christine is the coordinator for the Reiki Program provided by the non-profit organization CAUSE - Comfort for America's Uniformed Services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda and at Ft. Belvoir. She has volunteered with CAUSE since 2009, giving Reiki treatments to the wounded soldiers and their families. In addition to providing Reiki sessions, Christine has been teaching Reiki self care classes to a pain management group and a PTSD spouses' group.

Reiki touch is very light and non-invasive. It is so gentle that it can be used on shrapnel wounds and recent amputations to improve wound healing and relieve phantom pain.

Reiki sessions relieve the stress of pre-surgery and post-surgery conditions and help with pain management.

The calming effect of a Reiki session helps relieve the side effects of PTSD such as anxiety, insomnia and depression.

Reiki practice helps military family members to cope with the stress of deployments. It helps the military spouses to take care of themselves and other family members. Reiki treatments reenergize the caregiver.

The Restore and Resilience Center at Ft. Bliss, Texas uses Reiki treatment as one of its holistic approaches to treat PTSD.

The Warrior Combat Stress Reset Program at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Texas uses Reiki treatment to reduce hyper-arousal and reactivity in soldiers returning from war.
